So I haven’t been on here in a while and wanted to get back into the swing of things. The Summer turned out to be busier and more hectic than normal – we found and bought a house! Will definitely go into more detail at another time but just wanted to come back and update for now. Packing up and purging 7 years of our lives was tough and the closing and moving were unreal (in the best and worst ways) but ultimately moving into our new home was also a huge surreal experience. We’re a month into living at the house and still far from unpacked and still struggling to adjust to our new normal on all fronts. But its all worth it when we talk about “our house”. The sense of accomplishment and relief is without equal. And there’s still a laundry list of things I want to do to this place but its ours and I love it so much.

The kids seem to have adjusted okay as well and are enjoying the new school and area. Its very different from the old neighborhood but they’ve adapted fairly well to the new terrain and routines. Kid 1 has been a huge help in grabbing Kid 2 and walking home, helping with homework and even dinners that I’ve made and that only need to preheated. Its a gift that I am extremely grateful to Kid 1 for.

In the process of moving we got rid of a lot of the old furniture and have been agonizing on choices at the house because we’re here for the long haul and want to make sure to get it right with our choices. Its tough and challenging when we plan for one thing but then have to consider scenarios 2, 3 or 4. Its October so its getting cooler and the neighbors have decorated for Halloween – my favorite holiday. I’ve already taken a day off at work so I can trick-or-treat with the kiddos. It should be fun and am looking forward to new memories and experience here in the new nabe with the fam.

Still so much to unpack/sort though and get situated and settled into but really loving our lives right now,
