Friday Family Film Night: UNCUT GEMS review

In which the Mister joins me in reviewing UNCUT GEMS (2019), currently available on Showtime.  Directed by The Safdie Brothers (Benny and Josh) with a script by Ronald Bronstein, Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie; the story follows Howard Ratner (an absolutely luminescent Adam Sandler), a diamond district businessman who is extremely flawed and unlikable who is also drowning in debt but for some reason seems to have embraced the philosophy of everything working out for itself.  A bunch of interesting characters inhabit Howard’s orbit and as the story progresses I believe the audience is rooting for Howard to come out okay through all of the mayhem.  The film has a run time of 2 h and 15 m and is rated R. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
