In which the Mister joins me in reviewing REC (2007), currently available on Prime Video. Directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, from a script by Jaume Balagueró, Paco Plaza and Luiso Berdejo. In this film we follow Angela (Manuela Velasco), a reporter for a local news program and her cameraman, as they shadow the firemen from the local engine company. In the wee hours of the morning, there’s a call and 2 firemen, Angela and her cameraman get in the fire truck to go check out a call about a senior in distress. When they arrive, the other residents are in the first floor lobby, having been instructed to remain there. The 2 firemen, Angela and her cameraman go up with 2 security guards who work for the building to investigate and from here the story then goes full throttle into a terrifying nightmare that doesn’t let up till the film’s final frame. A total MUST WATCH. The film has a run time of 1 h and 18 m and is rated R. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
