Friday Family Film Night: MAD GOD review

In which the Mister joins me in reviewing MAD GOD (2021), currently streaming on AMC+. Conceived, written, directed and 30 years in the making, Phil Tippett offers a story of unspeakable horrors with nightmarish and unsettling imagery from start to finish. Tippett, a stop-motion master, weaves a non-stop gruesome story in macabre detail from his characters to the landscape being explored. The film can be seen as an allegory for many things based on the viewpoint of the viewer but beware and be forewarned that the imagery is consistently shocking, grisly and morbid at every turn. The film is 1 h and 23 m and is unrated but probably safe to say it’s definitely an R picture and not recommended for younger viewers. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
