In which the Mister joins me in reviewing LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (2006), which is on Cinemax, Max and to buy/rent off Prime Video. This is written by Michael Arndt and directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton. The film follows the Hoover family, as they are in a race against time to get from New Mexico to California so their youngest, Olive (Abigail Breslin) can make it to participate in the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. We meet Olive’s parents (Toni Collette and Greg Kinnear), her Grandpa (Alan Arkin), her older brother (Paul Dano) and her Uncle Frank (Steve Carrell) who is coming off a terrible break up. Hijinks ensue and the road trip from Hell suddenly transforms this family. Another feel good story with a masterful script and spot on performances – this is a MUST WATCH. The film has a run time of 1 h and 41 m is rated R.
