In which the Mister joins me in reviewing FAST COLOR (2018), which is currently streaming on Hulu. Directed by Julia Hart, with writing credits to Julia Hart and Jordan Horowitz, the film follows Ruth (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a woman with superhuman abilities who’s been on the run for years, chased by people trying to use her and her powers to repair the planet. With nowhere to go, she goes back home to her mother (Lorraine Toussaint) who has been raising Ruth’s daughter, Lila (Saniyya Sidney). While the ideas in the story are interesting, the performances which were all solid do not save this film. The film has a run time of 1 h 40 m and is rated PG-13. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
