In which the Mister joins me in reviewing BARBARIAN (2022), currently available on HBO Max but also still in theaters. Written and directed by Zach Cregger, the film is makingwaves and rightly so. The story follows Tess (Georgina Campbell) who arrives one evening to her AirBnB only to discover that there’s already another guest staying there. She meets Keith (Bill Skarsgård) who insists she spend the night in the bedroom as he transplants himself to the couch since she’s come to interviewfor a job. He tellsher theycan figure stuff out thenext day and her initial alarm and apprehensions melt away as the evening turns into a more pleasant experience with Keith. Tess goes to her interview the nextday but a few things that should be redflags are ignored and then the story ramps up into Crazytown. Our advice is go into this without reading any spoilers to really enjoy the ride – you won’t regret it. This is one of the better horror movies of the year. The film has a run time of 1 h and m and is rated R. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
