Friday Family Film Night: AMERICAN SYMPHONY review

In which the Mister and I check out AMERICAN SYMPHONY (2023), which we caught on Netflix.  From director Matthew Heineman, the film follows musician, Jon Batiste, through a period in his life where he’s approaching the Grammy awards where he happens to be nominated 11 times and is working on a new music project to be entitled AMERICAN SYMPHONY while also dealing with his wife’s, Suleika Jaouad, cancer treatments.  The film is heartbreakingly beautiful in recording the ups and downs in the lives of Jon and Suleika as they face their battles and tackle big events with grace, strength and so much love.  This film is a nominee for Best Music (Original Song) at the 2024 Academy Awards.  The film clocks in at 1 h 44 m and is rated  PG-13.  Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
