Today was a tough time. GA’s governor signed legislation that is counter to democracy and alientates and suppresses the vote of many of the citizens of the state. I never would have dreamed that this is the America I would be living in now. How heartbreaking and disappointing.
However, today I am grateful for the fighters for equality, for advocates of kindness, for those that continue to stand up for the rights of others and wage war against the tyranny of the few that seems to overwhelm the many. Today, my company sponsored a chat with Sherrilynn Ifill, president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund/law professor and lawyer. The topic was Championing Diversity and it seemed especially pertinent to hear this today. We have a long way to go but there are people there to role model after, to use as guides and mentors as we continue to fight for our nation to be accountable and truly represent all of US.
