Today I watched THE LORDS OF FLATBUSH from 1974 and its exactly what I thought it would be. It’s kind of a slice of life without too much character development and some very wooden dialogue. I think the actors do the best the can with what they have but its not very much. Its fun to see the 50s captured though – this is where the film really excels – in the snapshot of a time long past. The locales, dress and feel of the 50s definintely permeates the film and is the high spot. Its also kind of fun to see where some of these actors may have gotten a start.
