Day 17 of 365 Days of Gratitude

Today I am super appreciative and thankful for my kids. I have 2 – ages 12 and 9 – and they are now old enough to be helpful in the house. We started giving them more responsibilities in exchange for screen time and purchased goods. I’m not a huge fan of housework but I do love a clean house. With kids, maintaining clean can be tricky but as they get older and we indoctrinate good ways to maintain hygiene, they too have picked up on the importance of a clean house. My youngest in particular it seems. She in the past would only wear clothes one time and then deposit into the hamper. When I give away my kids old clothes the number one comment is how in good shape the clothes are – its true. But I think its because they never saw clothes as something to live in – more like Angela Lansbury at the Tony’s – wear once, be seen in it and then get into the next outfit. My youngest truly is a girly girl. But that’s fine. They both keep it interesting. But today I am grateful for the assist in keeping the house clean. And my youngest seems to be the most thorough and really takes pride in the work she’s done which is great and something that will transfer to other parts of her life. I hope she always has this joy in a job well done.
