Today I am grateful for local businesses. I know that this time of covid has been difficult for so many people but I especially feel bad for al the specialized mom and pop shops that have tried to thrive and survive. A local shop to us is Las Chicas, a bakery owned and run by women. When we go out to run errands, we always make it a point to go there before coming home. We stock up on their sandwiches and other baked goods. This time I saw their organic honey and decided to give it a whirl. I love a little honey and lemon in my tea and this has been a welcome and delicious addition.

Today is also the 21st anniversary of the first time I laid eyes on my soulmate. I swear it doesn’t feel that long but the calendar doesn’t lie. In any other time we might have gone out for dinner but it was still nice to spend all day together and curl up on the couch and watch TV (he watched as I snoozed) and everything in the world felt just right.
